Short term missions are a very exciting opportunity to actually go and visit missionaries without quitting your job. It is quite different than selling your home and car and saying good bye to your family and friends for the next four years of your life. Short term missions are defined as any trip to the mission field that has duration of less than two years. The only prerequisite is that you are willing to go and help out!

Individuals young and old, even families with children have gone on short term mission trips ranging in length from two weeks to almost two years (most common is two weeks to three months)! God can use any length of time to develop a passion in you for missions. A short term experience can give full time missionaries help in a work project and also be an encouragement to them. Often short term missionaries act as a courier service, bringing down computers, airplane parts, Sunday school materials, and not to mention basic food items like Snickers, M & Ms and chocolate chips. However, the most important blessing is by far the life changes it causes in the short termer-life will never be the same again!
