Becky Huber grew up on the mission field, going to the International high school in Vianapolis, Brazil. She played soccer during those years and also won an academic scholarship award her sophomore year. After she graduated, Becky returned to the States and enrolled in the nursing program at Columbia Bible College in South Carolina. Later she moved to Peoria, Il to attend Methodist School of Nursing. While she was at Columbia she went to a youth group meeting at the Apostolic Christian Church of Richmond, VA. It was that she there she met this guy named Jeff Hrubik.

Jeff grew up in the Richmond, VA area. His Dad was a minister at the AC church there. During high school, he wasn't involved in any extra curricular activities, but developed his love for electronics. After high school, he went on to Virginia Tech and earned a degree in engineering. Jeff got a job with Dupont as an electrical engineer and was soon impressing his superiors with his skills.

During their courtship, the subject of foreign missions came up. Becky was ready to return to Brazil her "home" but wanted to finish her RN training. Jeff was definitely open to going, but felt no specific call to go at that time. That call came in 1982, six years after their wedding. He turned in his resignation at Dupont and they headed for the Amazon. Becky kept busy as a nurse and had her hands full with their four kids. Jeff was Mr. Home Improvement Fix-it man, doing all of the wiring on the first boats they built there. Boat wiring wasn't one of his favorite jobs. It required working in small cramped spaces in the heat of the Amazon-very different from his air-conditioned office at Dupont. Getting a bad case of hepatitis, six months after his arrival in Brazil was also something new.

Jeff and Becky oversee the PAZ bases across the Amazon BasinĀ and also provide supervision for the other American and Brazilian missionaries working with PAZ. They teach frequently in the church and at church-related conferences, especially on matters related to marriage and family.

Jeff & Becky have four children -- Ruth, Beth, Paul and Debbie -- who love the Lord and have given their lives to His full-time service.
